Loadholt - Verizon Take a Player to School Program
01 Feb 11
While most kids bring in a favorite toy or pet for "show and tell,” today at Lake Country Montessori School, Mike Wallace, age 11, got to bring Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman, Phil Loadholt, to “Take a Player to School.” The program is co-sponsored by the NFL and Verizon Wireless.
The event is not only a great chance for the winning student to flaunt what is likely the most impressive “show and tell” in the history of their school, it is also an opportunity for the player to preach the message of getting a good education and working to the best of your ability.
The day began with a house call from Phil Loadholt. Next, the fan eschewed the usual routine of taking the bus with classmates, instead opting for a VIP upgrade – a limo ride to school with their new pal. After arriving to cheers and high-fives, the two attended home room or first period class, though it’s safe to say this was no ordinary learning environment.
