Career Accomplishments
Patrick Surtain was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 1998 NFL Draft. He played for the Dolphins from 1998-2004 and for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2005-2009. Surtain was selected to the Pro Bowl three times in his career (2002, 2003, 2004). In his 11 seasons in the NFL, Surtain accumulated 415 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles and 37 interceptions.
Surtain was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended high school at Edna Karr High School. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where he was a four year letterman and two year starter. In his junior year, Surtain started all 11 games and accumulated 84 tackles, 8 passes defended and six interceptions.
Patrick and his wife, Michelle, reside in Florida with their two children.
